PhD Research Prototype | IoT & Embedded Security
This platform collects and analyses firmware images from IoT devices to identify security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and insecure defaults, and maps them to NIST standards.
Built as part of an ongoing doctoral research on firmware security and automated vulnerability discovery.
The goal of the platform is to move from raw firmware binary files to structured, repeatable security findings. That can aid companies in compliance with NIST and improve their overall security posture.
Upload raw .bin images from embedded and IoT devices. Files are then analysed with tools such as Binwalk and custom scripts.

The backend will parse tool output into a findings model, including severity, likelihood, exploitability, and remediation guidance.

Findings are designed to align with established best-practice guidance, including the NIST framework. Supporting both academic analysis and practitioner reporting.
